As far as I'm concerned if a buyer wants to look on newsgroups to
purchase an item then they should take the responsibility of doing
their own background checks (ie: buyer beware).  If they do decide to
go ahead with a sale and they end up paying too much it would be their
own fault for not doing the research prior to the purchase.

The seller has good intentions of providing goods at what he/she
thinks is a fair price for their products.  It's just like when you go
into Future Shlopop and look for a Big Screen TV without doing any
research. Future Shlop thinks they are selling their product at a
reasonable price but you'll probably end up paying a higher price than
you would from an online retailer or a less known electronic stores
like The Brick, Sears or the Super Store.

I'm sure the original poster had good intentions on letting others
know that the seller's price may be a bit high, but instead of putting
in a smart alleck response that a kid from Grade 4 would use:
"It's a 1.8ghz Do you really think you will get $250 for it???
HELL NO
LOL "

Provide a more adult comment like:
"FYI .. here's a link to a similar priced item elsewhere: www.whatever.com
=2E.. may want to rethink your asking price or buyer may want to offer
based on this price"
