I've never used a proper 'service,' rather have just spoken with
friends or acquaintences, indicating that I needed someone to help me out.
Thus far, it seems to've worked out well enough. I pay from $12.50 to $15
an
hour for 'prox two hours work every two weeks. (If the job is complete in
less than two hours, I pay the full $25/$30 -- it works out). I have them
do
laundry, dishes, take out the trash, vacuum the floors, clean the tub,
sink,
and toilet. I'm a batchelor, and so dust doesn't really bother me unless
it
gets in the ketboard an cauzes tYpos!

Posting a notice on a college or high school bulletin board might
get you something -- students are often hungry and could use a bit of
extra
cash in return for light work. Or contact one of the counselors at the
local
college or high school to advertise. You could post the same notice at one
of the local supermarkets that have bulletin boards.

Craigslist.com *might* be a good source (for either finding or
asking for), I dunno. I posted a notice once long ago on the
sonoma.general
ng here at sonic and got a response. (Didn't work out, but at least I got
a
response.) A call to the Social Security office may be a way to get
someone
to help out (either directly or to tell them of the op****tunity).

Now, if you're looking for a 'housekeeping service,' I expect you'll
pay large dollars. The yellow pages can help locate one of these. I
*think*
they'll be bonded, which can be nice. Expensive, but nice.
