If I had a buncha books and wanted to sell them, first I'd seperate
them into book club editions and regular editions. I'd take the regular
ones
to bookstores and at least get an estimate (or some booksellers will come
to
your house to give an estimate -- phone and ask).
eBay is a possibility. Esp if you categorise them and offer a bunch
them as such at one time. Westerns, war, sci-fi, cookbooks, etc. If there
is
more than one author represented, you might try to sell them as a group by
author (westerns by Zane Grey, westerns by <that other dude>, sci-fi by
Heinlein, sci-fi by Asimov, technothriller by Clancy, etc). I've never
used
eBay to sell things, so I can't advise further.
Ditto with craigslist. With the caveat that groups of books would
prob sell better there than singles -- unless the single is something that
is fairly special. A Guttenberg bible, an autographed copy of Rand's
"Atlas
Shrugged," anything by Heinlein, etc.
BTW, intact dust covers make a difference. As does a lack of dog
ears, unbroken spines, complete (no missing) pages. These things should be
mentioned in your advert.
