SOUVENIR OF COBALT. "The Silver City." Its Mines and Points of Interest.
"Pioneer Edition." Sudbury, W. G. Gillespie, (1906). "From a population
of 200 scattered through the rugged woods in the spring of 1905 it has
grown
in one year to a hustling city of 6,000 with a floating population of
about
12,000." - from the introductory note. A digest-sized oblong pamphlet in
grey card covers, bound with green string. (32) pp. of captioned
photographs, including "The Canadian Bank of Commerce. The finest
building
in the mining town." Cobalt was a rough-looking place but it produced
many
silver millionaires and spurred mineral exploration of the Precambrian
****eld. Minor wear. Slight soiling of the title page. Very good plus.
