Hi,
The Mazda 3 is not a Ford. It is most likely based on a Volvo S40 and the
2.3 liter 4L is a pure Mazda engine. I cannot say the same for the V6. If
you don't mind buying the last year of the model, go ahead.. it is an
excellent car. I own a 2004 and I have 140 000.. the car still runs like
new. good luck.
