FS: Custom Built 72GB RAID 0 Array, Adaptec Mac Card, etc.

by <throwawayemail@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 17, 2006 at 08:45 AM

Price reduced to $500. I have for sale a custom-built RAID 0 72GB drive
array.

It is in a Granite Digital 4-drive tower case and each bay has its own
dual
or triple bay fan. This case retails for $179.00. The fans are $15 each
(total $60).

(see: http://www.granitedigital.com/catalog/pg03_cases.htm)

The internal scsi ribbon cable is a Granite Digital SCSI Vue TPO Flat
Ribbon
Ultra Cable for speeds up to 320MB/s (Ultra 3 SCSI LVD). This cable is a 4
internal position cable plus two LVD gold external female connector ends.
This cable alone retails for $158. This is the finest internal SCSI ribbon
cable that money can buy, anywhere.

(see: http://www.granitedigital.com/catalog/pg06_incable.htm)

It comes with a 6 foot Granite Digital SCSI Vue Gold Diagnostic Cable for
speeds up to 320MB/s (Ultra 3 SCSI)LVD. This cable alone retails for $229.
This is the finest external SCSI cable that money can buy, anywhere.

(see: http://www.granitedigital.com/catalog/pg09_xtcables.htm)

It comes with the incomparable Granite Digital Active VUE LVD active
terminator 68 pin MicroD with speed indicator (no diagnostics). This
terminator sells for $79 alone!

(see:
http://www.granitedigital.com/catalog/pg05_terminators.htm#pricingtop

All these Granite Digital cables and terminators have a full lifetime
warranty.

Also, this package includes a like-new Adaptec Macintosh 29160 (not the N
model) card that is compatible with any G4 PowerMac running up to OS X
10.3.
Retail on this card is $329 but they can be found for $239.

Finally, the meat of the array is 4 very lightly used (very low hours,
like
25 or 30) Quantum Atlas IV 18.2GB LVD-SCSI 160 hard drives. These things
run
like a scorched jack-rabbit. When purchased new, they cost $339 - EACH.

Why am I selling? I'm buying a new X-RAID system from Apple.

Total value here is over $2,300. Sell for $500 complete. Email if
interested. I'll get back to you.
