I really miss my upgraded MessagePad 2000. <sigh>
I was reading a story today on the Macrumors.com web-site called
"Newton Revival?" I'll let you go there to read it, but the same story
had some links to some QuickTime movies of Newton OS functions. It
made me really miss my old upgraded MP2000 so I thought about picking
up a used one somewhere and thought I post here. I also did a search
on my HD to see what software I had left, a fair amount BTW, but I
also found my original letter to the purchaser of my MessagePad... it
was dated exactly 3 years ago today that I officially sold it and then
****pped it out on the 19th. Two lines of the letter I ****pped out with
my MP still stick with me...
"It's a sad day as I send her off. Oh well... "
and
"Best regards and treat her well,"
I took this as a sign that I should find another MP2000 for personal
comfort. What I'm looking for is a used but very well looked after
(and intact) MP2000 (stock or upgraded) or a 2100. The screen but be
in decent shape with minimal scratching and it must still have the
cover and AA battery holder. PCMCIA card slot blanks and original
stylus would be a bonus but not necessary since I can get those off of
eBay fairly cheaply.
So if someone has what I'm looking for fairly cheaply I'd be
interested in hearing from you. I won't be using this on a daily basis
since my job requires that I carry around a Palm T3... I just want
one for nostalgia reasons and to pull it out and show friends and
family what a real PDA OS should do.
