Description: SUMMARY
Responsible for the successful administration, deployment, and/or
integration of database and server solutions that aid internal operations
and/or external customer needs. Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements
and maintains company database[s]. Identifies data sources, constructs
data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the
process. Writes codes for database access, modifications, and constructions
including stored procedures and server side scripting.
Assists with and sup****ts the development, deployment, and integration of
various information systems for the purpose of sup****ting short and long
term objectives. Also responsible for the sup****t of objectives through
the development, deployment, and integration of solutions that: 1)
increase productivity, 2) generates revenue, 3) reduce costs, 4) sup****t
internal operations (specifically the Oracle database infrastructure and
associated scripts accessing and managing data manipulation via
databases). This position does sup****t a higher level Help Desk function,
so some percentage of Help Desk issues related to the job function would be
elevated to this position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university within the
MIS or Computer Science discipline; two plus years of Oracle database
sup****t; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Exposure
to database issues regarding a CRM/ERM/ERP enterprise is a plus.
Experience with Tivoli (Prolog scripting) and/or SNMP OIDs is a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Oracle certifications are a plus, but not required. Prior on the job
experience is required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must have strong organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed in a
timely manner.
Must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of PL/SQL.
Must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge scripting. This includes
some other scripting language and/or tools other than PL/SQL. (e.g. server
scripts for batch control)
Must have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment where priorities
can change quickly.
Must be able to display strong interpersonal, oral, written and research
skills and have the ability to communicate with others in a professional
environment.
Must have the ability to work independently, using solid judgment and be
capable of setting priorities and following through. A certain degree of
creativity and latitude is required.
Must have the ability to work after hours and weekends if necessary.
Must have the ability to travel on a minimal basis.
