Description:   Our client is expanding and looking for an Oracle Data
Warehouse DBA to manage databases and applications in a multi-platform
(Oracle, DB2, UDB, SQL Server) environment with a focus on Oracle Workflow
and Oracle Warehouse Builder.  Works with other DBAs, as well as UNIX
administrators and Software Development team, to maintain databases and
application environment for maximum availability and performance. 
1.Installs, configures, patches and maintains the Oracle data warehouse
database, Oracle workflow and Oracle warehouse builder.
2.Analyzes data, determines the appropriate computing platforms, designs,
implements and manages databases and the underlying objects and data
structures, including the creation, alteration, deletion and copying of
physical schemas, databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures,
triggers and declarative integrity constraints.
3.Analyzes physical information flows and integrates incoming information
with existing information stores.
4.Ensures maximum availability of database resources to users and
production applications. Sup****ts development, testing and production
database environments.
5.Responsible for database operations and object administration. 
Coordinates with the Systems Administrators on space management issues and
security management.
6.Reviews and coordinates database related application implementation into
the production environment with other MIS groups.
7.Works with Application Development personnel and establishes and
maintains the database configuration to maximize performance of database
applications; makes tuning adjustments as appropriate.  Develops hardware
and software sizing requirements.  Oversees and performs database
installation.  Monitors databases for resource utilization and provides
ongoing trend analyses for determining current need and forecasting future
resource requirements.
8.Installs, tests and tunes software and hardware related to database
management systems.  Schedules and performs upgrades to databases.
9.Consults with Recovery Services and the Infrastructure Planning Group in
planning, implementing and testing disaster recovery for production
databases and database management systems.
10.Works with Storage Administration to ensure database backups are
performed on a consistent basis and that all data structures are
recoverable.  In the event of al actual disaster, recovers all database
management systems and production databases for FSS Group.  Ensures
database consistency checking.  Oversees loading and unloading of data.
11.Reviews application code and makes recommendations for code
enhancements to take optimal advantage of database resources.
12.Develops routines to enhance/supplement existing database management
systems.
13.  Consults with Planning Group in the identification, evaluation and
selection of software and hardware related to database and related
technology, including database tools.
14.  Consults with Planning Group in development of departmental standards
and guidelines related to database.
15.  Provides database capacity input to Planning Group on a proactive
basis.
16.  Conducts application reviews to insure compliance with established
standards, policies and performance guidelines.
17.  Provides second level sup****t for problems related to physical
database.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will posess four to six years of progressively
responsible experience including, but not limited to, in depth, hands on
expertise with Oracle data warehouses using Oracle workflow and Oracle
warehouse builder, database design, performance improvement and
implementation (ideally including exposure to DB2, ORACLE, and SQL Server
environments), applying relevant set of tools is required.  Should have a
strong awareness of DBMS trends and their implications.  Strong analysis,
organization, communications, interpersonal skills and project management
skills is essential.
