Description: Oracle DBA in Villanova for a full time position
Our client is in search of an Oracle DBA in the Villanova area.
Successful candidates should have the following experience.
Perform Oracle database administration duties including configuration,
installation, upgrades, troubleshooting database systems, account
management, backup, and recovery.
Monitor database health and performance status
Create and maintain procedures and do***entation for database
environments
Participate in design and implementation of future database environments
including Oracle Data Guard
Participate in on-call pager rotation to sup****t our Production
Environment
Work on performance tuning and capacity planning efforts
Ensure that standards for database performance, availability, and
security are being met
REQUIREMENTS:
4+ years administering Oracle relational databases
1+ years working with a 7x24x365 production environment
Familiarity with Unix/Linux and at least one of the shell scripting
languages (Perl, Korn, Bash)
Knowledge of PL/SQL. SQLPLUS, SQL*Loader
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work
experience is required.
Oracle Certifications are a plus
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
This results-oriented individual must possess good communication and
troubleshooting skills. They must be flexible, adapt able, and have the
ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. In
addition, this individual must be able to work independently as well as
within a team and.
