Description: Thomas-Matthew Associates, based out of Newtown, PA is a
full service recruiting firm that specializes in providing individual
attention to our clients and candidates.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, evaluating and
implementing new database features and functionality including performance
tuning, profiling, trending, troubleshooting and issue resolution across
complex 9i,10g environments on windows platform; analyzing, solving and
creating solutions for challenging performance tuning situations;
performing standard database administrative tasks, including proactive
performance tuning, load testing, monitoring and profiling,
trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery, partitioning, replication,
installations and configurations as well as applying patches and upgrades;
managing development, validation and production databases and implementing
future Oracle enhancements to meet business needs; coding new or modified
programs in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL*PLUS, Windows Scripts, XML, and SQL loader;
loading data and transforming data in the clinical systems; mentoring other
team members in Oracle usage and best practices; keeping abreast of
emerging technologies and features; implementing and monitoring oracle
patches; writing change control do***ents and participating in other tasks
as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics with 2-5
years of work experience. Must have at least 2 years hands-on experience as
Oracle database administrator. Strong knowledge of the software
development lifecycle including systems analysis, design, development and
system validation/testing techniques. Strong knowledge and hands-on
experience related to mission critical backup and recovery, including RMAN
Experience with Drug Development information systems and broad
understanding of Drug Development functions. Knowledge of pharmaceutical
regulatory requirement 21 CFR Part 11 and GCP. Requires excellent written
and verbal communication skills, analytic ability and ability to work
cross-functionally as part of a diverse team. Knowledge of CDISC, TMS,
SQL Server, MS Window Server, Oracle Pharmaceuticals Application, LIMS,
E*doc is preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills, including
the ability to speak, write and understand English to comply with written
procedures, instructions, SOPs and other do***ents.
Position would convert from tem****ary status to regular, full-time in 3-6
months.
