CTP insurance premium jumping 200 percent from last year! WTF:

Just received my NRMA CTP (NSW compulsory 3rd party) insurance renewal in
the mail - it's 200 percent more than last year!

Total I'm being billed for is $614, comprising $425 for the actual CTP
part
(up $100 from last year!), but there is also a new $146 'MCIS' levy
included
that's about double the levy from the previous year? WTF is that all
about?
The renewal notice claims it's something called a 'Medical Care and Injury
Services' Levy..

Isn't CTP + full comprehensive insurance already covering every possibity?
Last year my CTP insurance was about $330 and full-comp was about $450 for
the year. How is NRMA now able to claim an increase in CTP cost of almost
200 percent? Either it's a calculation error because their computer system
fscked up and forget that I have full-comp with NRMA as well for the same
vehicle, or the government has done some really naughty deal with the
insurers!

Anyone else got a hugely increased CTP bill in the post recently? Time to
call NRMA and find out WTF is going on!
