I purchased this guitar THE DAY they were released at 10:00am EST. You
will
be one of 249 people in the WORLD to own this piece of art and history!!!!
(Guitar Center is keeping one for themselves, along with the obvious
original).
Clapton sold his official guitar to Guitar Center at auction for the sum
of
$847,500.00 and it was always his dream to have them replicated to benefit
his Antigua Crossroads Drug & Alcohol Abuse center. Guitar Center helped
him with his dream..........................
250 ES-335's were duplicated down to every last intricate detail to the
exact speficiations of the ES purchased by Clapton in 1964.
a.. The missing knob, just like Clapton's guitar.
b.. High Tech Lasers and computers were used to cut and sand the guitar
to
the exact geometrical shape of Clapton's guitar.
c.. The tears, wear, scratches, and missing stiches on the case, stamped
with the exact same "CREAM" markings used by Clapton in the 60's, 70's,
and
80's.
d.. The case was put through high-tech aging processes to give it the
weathered look that Eric Clapton's guitar has.
e.. The missing screw on the pick guard mount.
f.. The scratches and wear on the back of the guitar from his belt
buckle.
g.. The Hare Krishna stamp on the back, exactly like the one George
Harrison gave him.
h.. The nicks on the base of the neck from where Clapton had apparently
dropped it.
i.. The scratches, cracks, and wear around the edge of the guitar from
years of use.
j.. The screw holes and marks from where Clapton had his old pegs
removed
and new, Grover tuners installed.
k.. The same wood was used to make this guitar as used by Gibson in the
60's.
l.. Should you choose to actually PLAY it, no other Gibson guitar will
sound the same as this vintage-replicated ES-335!!!
